Butter Boards Are The Newest Viral Food Trend!

Butter boards - boards smeared with softened butter and topped with all manner of savory and sweet things- started popping up on social media like crazy!

Food influencer Justine Doiron introduced the concept by posting her butter board on TikTok here, which has been viewed nearly 8 million times!

Her version of a butter board is topped with lemon zest, salt, edible flowers, and a "honey coriander situation," resulting in an appealing and colorful spread through which she drags a crusty hunk of bread.

Soon enough, the trend took off and others posted images and videos of butter boards topped with figs, radish slices, ripe strawberries, etc!

There's even a spin off cream cheese board - topped with everything bagel seasoning or berries and jam to accompany with bagels for dipping!

What's not to like here!? It's easier and cheaper than slicing up a lot of cheese and cured meat. You get the even distribution of other flavors/add-ins of a compound butter, without going through the trouble of making one, plus added texture and a way to incorporate fresh elements!

It's truly an eye catching trend and a great way to get creative in the kitchen!
