I'm always on the hunt for new fun foods...especially cheese!
With the holiday season right around the corner, my eyes have been wandering in the deli department for cheeses and accompaniments that capture the festive holiday mood. When I saw the label for Kaaslands Drunken Rudolph beer cheese in my local Acme, I thought, "it doesn't get more festive than this"! It was a no brainer--I had to try it.

Alcohol-infused cheeses typically have an unnuanced fruity taste, with little flavor that is actually reminiscent of the beverage that it is infused with. Not this one!
You don't even need to taste this soft and sliceable Gouda cheese to know it is full of beery flavor. Upon opening the package, the smell itself was reminiscent of ale. Its taste is a perfect combination of salty, buttery Gouda and beer. The genuine beer flavor of this cheese is most likely due to the fact that it contains real beer, not just artificial flavoring. Finally, a cheese that has the real thing!
In my house, this cheese will definitely have a spot on my holiday cheese boards along with a cold glass of my favorite beer!
