Did The Pandemic Make Vegan Cheese Popular?

The food we eat is a basic and fundamental part of our lives and provides our bodies with the information and ingredients for us to function properly! If we don't get the correct information, our health becomes compromised, mentally and physically.

During the pandemic many people became very health conscious and aware of how food impacts our bodies.

Despite high prices, the COVID-19 pandemic has had positive influence on the sale of many organic and vegan foods.

Today, I'm focusing specifically on how popular vegan cheese has become. Companies in the North America vegan cheese market are capitalizing on this opportunity, considering an increasing number of consumers aim to improve their health and immunity power.

The growing awareness about immunity boosting properties of plant-based cheese is likely to keep revenue flowing into the market!

Regardless of your diet, choosing plant-based cheese instead of a dairy product is an easy way to rely more heavily on plants. This effect is powerful, as plants contain many important compounds, including vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

It's also clear that a diet rich in plants offers many benefits, helping to decrease your risk of disease and obesity, to lower your cholesterol levels, and help with your blood sugar levels.

How can food support immunity? Micronutrients and antioxidants are key. These compounds are mostly found in plant foods and help fight inflammation, the nexus for disease. In fact, a whole foods, plant-based diet contains 64-times the amount of immunity-boosting antioxidants compared to a diet that includes meat and dairy!

Generally, vegan cheese falls under the category of highly processed foods, similar to vegan meat, convenience foods, and frozen meals. Although highly processed vegan cheese tastes delicious and offers benefits, its downsides such as high fat, oil, and salt can lead to undesirable health outcomes in consumers.
