Founded on a deeply personal journey of motherhood and health challenges, Bake Me Healthy emerged from a passionate commitment to nourishing families with wholesome, plant-based treats. Their story unfolds as a determined individual, navigating lactose and egg intolerance during pregnancy and facing the heightened risk of breast cancer in 2020, embarked on a mission to create delicious, clean, and allergen-friendly baked goods. By prioritizing clean, plant-based ingredients, Bake Me Healthy was born, driven by the belief that everyone should have access to convenient, better-for-you baking options that don't compromise taste or well-being. Their dedication to empowering individuals and families to bake for themselves and the planet underscores a commitment to holistic health and sustainability.

What is your passion? Tell us about it.
A. I have always had a passion for innovation. For over 17 years, this took the form of creating beauty products for leading beauty companies. It also took the form of baking. I love making beautiful cupcakes, cakes, donuts, cookies, and treats.
What inspired you to pursue this passion? Tell us the story.
A. When I had children about 12 years ago, I developed food intolerances to dairy and eggs from my pregnancy. I learned to adapt my baking and cooking to accommodate these new restrictions. Then in 2020, I became high risk for breast cancer and my oncologist advised avoiding soy. Once again, I adapted my baking and cooking recipes, but more importantly I was burnt out from my beauty career and realized I needed to tend to my health so I left corporate America. I realized that I was not alone with my dietary restrictions and believed that baking should be inclusive. Anyone should be able to treat themself to a brownie without fear of what it will do to their bodies. I decided to create an allergy-friendly baking mix for busy moms like me who have food allergies and intolerances in their household. In May 2023, I launched Bake Me Healthy as the first Top 9 Allergen-Free, Upcycled Baking Mix business.
What makes your creation unique?
A. Bake Me Healthy is truly unlike anything on the market. First, it is vegan, gluten-free, nut-free, and free of the Top 9 Allergens as well as refined sugar, making it a delicious choice for those who don't want to compromise on their health or taste. Second, it is made with sustainable and upcycled ingredients - these are ingredients that would normally go to waste and end up creating methane gas, leading to climate change. Our mixes featured upcycled "ugly" bananas, coffee cherry flour, and sunflower protein flour with the latter two being byproducts of coffee and sunflower oil production, respectively. We believe so firmly in sustainability that our packaging is made with post consumer recycled materials. Third, our baking mixes are super easy to make (virtually anyone can make them). You just need to add oil and milk or water. Finally, our baking mixes are nutrient dense. Our Oatmeal Pancake & Waffle Mix provides 8g of plant protein per serving.
Tell us about your creative process.
A. The creative process starts with the consumer - first understand what they are seeking from a better-for-you baked good. Then I meticulously seek out novel upcycled ingredients and allergy-friendly ingredients. I proceed to do a ton of test baking to finalize a healthier, delicious, and nutritious baking mix. I test these out with my Plant-Baked Squad Ambassadors. Finally, I work with a creative agency and photographer to beautifully capture this in packaging.
Who is your audience? How do you engage them?
A. Our audience is Millennial Moms and Women who have food allergies/ intolerances in their household. I reach out to them through events, social media, and e-mails, in an effort to ensure I am serving them with a product that will make their life easier, healthier, and more delicious.
What experience does your passion create? What can recipients expect?
A. Baking with Bake Me Healthy is a fun and delicious experience. Our baking mixes are allergy-friendly and so easy to make that the whole family can join in. Our mixes are versatile so they can truly make it their own and be proud of their creation. Finally, anyone can treat themself.
Where can your creations be found?
A. Bakemehealthy.co, Amazon, Feed App, and several stores in New York City.
What is next?
A. We are working on a new baking mix that will launch in early 2024.
