What is your passion? Tell us about it.

A. My passion is bringing people together with food and fellowship. I like to create an experience in my restaurant that feels like visiting a friend's home; not eating out.

What inspired you to persue this passion? Tell us the story.

A. After a 14 year career in Surgical Assisting, I resigned and came back "home" to the family business, a restaurant, called the Squat 'N' Gobble. I partnered with my Mother and I am blessed that I get to work with my best friend every day! I enjoy people and food and my passion has always been that feeling of when the two are brought together. I was trained as a baker in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where I grew up. I worked with a group of 30 Mennonite women, and I always smile when I think about the fact that I was their "manager" because they taught me everything I know about baking! I didn't manage a thing!

What makes your creation unique?

A. I created the "Almond Crunch French Toast" and it has become a famous treat here at Squat 'N' Gobble. I use thick sliced Texas toast dipped in my signature French toast mix which consists of whole eggs, cream, cinnamon, vanilla and almond extract. Once dipped, the toast is dredged in my secret mixture. (CAP'N CRUNCH Cereal I put through the buffalo chopper and thin sliced almonds). It is grilled on both sides until golden brown and caramelized. It is topped with a homemade cream cheese drizzle and powdered sugar.

Tell us about your creative process.

A. My creative processes always happens hands on. I usually wake up with an idea in my head and then I create it and test it until it is perfection. That's how I created the "Almond Crunch French Toast".

Who is your audience? How do you engage them?

A. My audience is my customers. I engage them by daily conversations and finding out about them. I ask them what they like. People don't want to hear about me; they want me to ask about what gives them joy! I enjoy getting to know each and every one of my customers.

What experience does your passion create? What can recipients expect?

A. It creates a taste of home for me that I am able to share with others. It creates immense gratitude for me when a customer says to me..."This is the best French toast I have ever had!" I enjoy making people smile especially after they enjoy something I created.

Where can your creations be found?

A. At Squat 'N' Gobble, in Bluffton, South Carolina.

What is next?

A. I'm not sure. I feel like I have already arrived. I am truly living my dream.
