Recipe from Insanely Good Recipes
Ingredients
2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup soy sauce
4 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
4 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
Sesame seeds for garnish, optional
Green onions, chopped for garnish, optional
Instructions
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, ginger, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes (if using). In a separate bowl, toss the shrimp with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Heat the remaining olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.
Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside. Add the sauce mixture to the pan and bring to a simmer. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
Return the shrimp to the pan and toss with the sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions (if using), and serve immediately with rice or noodles.
Notes
Thaw your shrimp if frozen.
You can marinate the shrimp in the sauce mixture for 15-30 minutes before cooking for extra flavor.
For a richer flavor, use brown butter instead of olive oil.
