Ingredients
  • 2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 4 tablespoons honey

  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger

  • 4 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional

  • Sesame seeds for garnish, optional

  • Green onions, chopped for garnish, optional

Instructions
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, ginger, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and red pepper flakes (if using). In a separate bowl, toss the shrimp with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

  • Heat the remaining olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.

  • Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside. Add the sauce mixture to the pan and bring to a simmer. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until slightly thickened.

  • Return the shrimp to the pan and toss with the sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions (if using), and serve immediately with rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Thaw your shrimp if frozen.

  • You can marinate the shrimp in the sauce mixture for 15-30 minutes before cooking for extra flavor.

  • For a richer flavor, use brown butter instead of olive oil.

  • This recipe is easily doubled or tripled to feed more people.

  • Serve with broccoli, steamed vegetables, or your favorite side dish.
