1. Neal’s Yard Dairy Keen’s Cheddar

"This historic, clothbound, raw-milk cheddar comes from the picturesque Moorhayes Farm in Somerset, England. It’s rich and dense yet creamy. Guaranteed to be a hit on every cheese plate."

2. Jasper Hill Farm Whitney

Whether you want it melted or sliced on a cheeseboard, Jasper Hill Farm has got you covered with the masterpiece that is Whitney. "Whitney has a velvety-smooth, pliant texture with signature notes of toasted nuts, cured ham, and sweet cream. It pairs beautifully on a cheese board with cured meats, dried figs, and pickled shallots, served with a natural white wine. Modeled after classic melting cheeses, Whitney is an ideal cheese to use with a raclette machine; melt it atop a plate of roasted potatoes, garnished with cornichons and charcuterie" states the Jasper Hill Farm website.

3. Vermont Creamery St. Albans

Underneath St. Albans's Geotrichum rind lies a creamy, ooey-gooey interior. This indulgent cow's milk cheese is sold in a ceramic crock which doubles as a baking vessel!

4. Cypress Grove Humboldt Fog

This one is no surprise to us! This beloved goat's milk cheese "features a distinctive ribbon of edible vegetable ash. You'll enjoy buttermilk and fresh cream, complemented with floral notes, herbaceous overtones, and a clean citrus finish. As Humboldt Fog matures, the creamline develops and the flavor intensifies."

5. Rogue Creamery Organic Oregon Blue

"Oregon Blue is Rogue Creamery’s classic, signature blue cheese. First created in 1954, it was the first cave-aged, Roquefort-style blue cheese made on the West Coast. This cheese is approachable and fruity, with moderate “blue” flavor and a hint of sweet forest honey. It has a rich, creamy texture and a savory-sweet finish." The perfect introduction to blue cheese.

6. Sweet Grass Dairy Thomasville Tomme Raw

"A raw cow's milk cheese made in the style of a French farmhouse table cheese. This natural rinded, semi-soft cheese is aged at least 60 for a subtle yet complex earthy flavor and creamy texture."

7. Cowgirl Creamery Organic Mt Tam

"Brie’s quirky Californian cousin", Mt. Tam is an organic bloomy rind cheese with all the velvety smoothness typical of a triple-creme cheese and a dense, fudgy core. Its thin rind ranges from pillowy to birch bark in appearance with a taste reminiscent of mushrooms.

When young, Mt. Tam has notes of creme fraiche & cultured butter. As it ages, its salted butter, cream, fresh pasture, & white mushrooms notes intensify, its gooey creamline develops and its core becomes more fudgy and soft. This cheese truly melts in your mouth.

8. Kaltbach Cave-Aged Le Gruyère AOP

"Kaltbach™ Le Gruyère® AOP matures peacefully under the watchful care of the Kaltbach Master Affineur in the cave. The mineral-rich air creates the perfect environment for transforming specially selected Le Gruyère wheels into wondrous depths of flavor. Each wheel is recognized instantly by the color of its rind – an unmistakable rustic brown patina – and its flavors of dried stone fruit, spice, black tea and hazelnuts with an earthy depth to captivate your taste buds. The texture is smooth with a slight flake and pronounced crystal crunch."

9. Mitica Sottocenere al Tartufo

Anything truffle-flavored is reminiscent of the holiday season for many, so it's no surprise that this fine truffle cheese made the list! " A judicious amount of black truffles are added into the paste of the cheese, which is then aged in ashes to preserve it, as per Venetian farmers’ tradition...Its rind has a hint of truffle oil and the ashes of various spices, including nutmeg, cloves, coriander, cinnamon, licorice, anise, and fennel, adding delicate aromas and helping to set this cheese apart from the crowd."

10. Hervé Mons Gabietou

"When the temperatures drop, we all need a cheese to curl up by the fire with. This is that cheese. It’s delicate — crafted from sheep and cow's milk for a melt-in-your mouth texture suited for its earthy flavors and subtly sweet, nutty background."

11. Kaasaggio Robusto Gouda

"Exclusive to Whole Foods Market, this customer-favorite is an approachable addition to any cheese board, sure to be a winner with guests. An aged Gouda with nutty flavor and parmesan notes that’s sliceable and meltable — perfect for open-faced-sandwich bliss."

12. Istara Petit Basque

This semi-soft sheep's milk cheese is handmade in the French Pyrenees. It has "a mild, nutty flavor and a subtle, sweet finish. Similar to Manchego, but more buttery, making it the ideal plate mate to savory cured meats, nuts and dried fruit."
