Antonio Mozzarella Factory stands as a testament to 80 years of Italian cheese-making tradition. This award-winning manufacturer of fresh Italian cheeses has a rich history rooted in the provincial town of Calabria, Italy, where the finest milk was used to craft quality cheeses. Founded by Thomas Pugliese, the company's success and passion for quality have evolved over the years, making it a prominent name in the world of artisanal cheese.


The journey of Antonio Mozzarella Factory began when Thomas Pugliese, the company's founder, took a 2-week vacation to Calabria, Italy, in 1994. Little did he know that this vacation would turn into a 2-year commitment as he immersed himself in the family's cheese-making facility, learning the time-honored tradition of mozzarella making from his grandparents. Returning to the United States in 1996, Thomas continued his cheese-making education at a goat farm in Pennsylvania, where he expanded his skills to include crafting goat cheeses. In 1997, Antonio Mozzarella opened its doors as a deli and catering facility in Springfield, NJ, initially paying homage to Thomas' mentor, Antonio. Two years later, the deli expanded into a larger facility across the street, attracting the attention of local food retailers and evolving into Antonio Mozzarella Factory.


In 2007, the company outgrew its second facility and made a significant move to its current location in Newark, New Jersey. This move marked a pivotal moment for Antonio Mozzarella Factory, solidifying its presence and allowing for further growth. Today, in their state-of-the-art New Jersey facility, the company continues to follow the same time-honored tradition laid down by its founders.


Each day at the factory begins with the pasteurization of raw milk sourced from local dairies. The cheese-makers then carefully create the curd, a crucial step in the production of their fresh cheeses. This meticulous approach allows Antonio Mozzarella Factory to maintain complete control over the production process, ensuring that their cheeses are made in the same tradition as the company's founders. 


All of Antonio Mozzarella Factory's fresh mozzarella, ricotta, and specialty cheeses are crafted with 100% cow's milk. The company takes pride in making its entire line of award-winning cheeses to order, guaranteeing freshness for customers to enjoy immediately. The cheeses are available in hand-wrapped pieces, food service, and retail containers, catering to a diverse range of culinary needs.


With 80 years of history, the company continues to produce award-winning cheeses with a dedication to excellence.
