Champignon North America’s Cambozola brand reached it's 40th year in the US market!
In the beginning of their journey, their aspirations and goals were to create a soft-ripened cheese that combines creamy mildness with a refined zest.
In 1980, the master cheese makers in south Germany succeeded in achieving this uniqueness. The result being a fascinating and new composition, a very special cheese of it's own kind, Cambozola, which stands for soft-ripened cheese specialties of the highest quality.
It was in 1998 that Paul Bocuse, the famous German Chef, presented this exquisite soft-ripened cheese with the highest award being 3 stars! In 2006 Cambozola was awarded 'Product of the Year" from among 300 cheese products. Following up with another successful award in 2019 for "Remarkable Taste" at the Superior Taste Award in Belgium! To top it off with the most recent, 2020 "Best of Class" for Cambozola Black Label in the category, 'Blue Cheese with Exterior Molding' at the World Championship Cheese Contest in Wisconsin!

beginner's blue! A triple cream, soft ripened cheese with beautiful blue veins, made with pasteurized cow's milk from the Allgäu region of Bavaria, Germany. The name comes from an ancient Roman settlement in Bavaria called Cambodunum, where the art of cheese-making flourished!
Cambozola Black Label is aged longer and colder than the classic, which makes it even creamier and contains stronger blue notes. The dedicated cheese masters skillfully refine this cheese constantly during the longer ripening process in cold cellars, making the cheese a premium masterpiece!
