Creamy Cucumber Salad

When the sweltering heat of summer envelops us, there's nothing quite like a dish that can offer a refreshing respite. Enter the creamy cucumber salad—a dish that embodies the essence of cool tranquility. Imagine biting into something so light and crisp that it feels like a gentle breeze against your skin, soothing and invigorating all at once.

This salad is a symphony of textures and flavors. Delicately thin slices of cucumber and onion intermingle, their crunch harmonizing beautifully with a rich, creamy dressing. The dressing itself is a masterful blend of smooth sour cream, a touch of tangy vinegar, and the fresh, aromatic notes of dill. Each bite offers a little burst of culinary magic, a perfect balance of cool, creamy, and tangy.

Ingredients

  • 2 long English cucumbers, thinly sliced

  • 1⁄2 medium red onion, thinly sliced

  • 1⁄2 cup sour cream

  • 1⁄4 cup mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1⁄4 cup chopped fresh dill

  • In a separate small bowl, whisk together the sour cream, mayonnaise, white wine vinegar, sugar, garlic powder, chopped fresh dill, salt, and black pepper until smooth and creamy.

  • Pour the sour cream dressing over the sliced cucumbers and onions. Gently toss until the vegetables are evenly coated in the creamy dressing.
