Krabby Patty with Jellyfish Jelly: A SpongeBob-Inspired Culinary Adventure

Calling all SpongeBob fans! Remember those childhood dreams of sinking your teeth into a Krabby Patty from the Krusty Krab? You’re not alone—many of us spent hours imagining the delicious taste of that elusive burger, tantalized by its secret formula. While the exact recipe remains a mystery, we know it features a patty, sea lettuce, onions, sea cheese, chum, pickles, ketchup, mustard, a splash of “whee,” and a secret formula that even Mr. Krabs keeps hidden under his mattress.

But there’s one special episode that took the Krabby Patty to a whole new level. In this memorable moment, SpongeBob introduces us to an off-the-menu version of his iconic burger, topped with Jellyfish Jelly. While it was a bit of a flop with No Name, the idea of combining sweet, sticky jelly with a savory patty intrigued me.

As an adult who still dreams of tasting this unique creation, I decided it was time to bring the Krabby Patty with Jellyfish Jelly into my own kitchen. Without the secret formula, I had to improvise, but luckily, recipe developer 'The Naughty Fork' has crafted a creative version of this whimsical burger. Ready to dive into a SpongeBob-inspired culinary adventure? Let’s cook up a Krabby Patty with Jellyfish Jelly—no jellyfish were harmed in the making of this burger, I promise!

Krabby Patty with Jellyfish Jelly Recipe

Recipe from The Naughty Fork

Ingredients

For Patties:

  • 1lb Ground Beef

  • 2 tbsp old bay seasoning

  • 1 tsp fresh ground pepper

  • 1 tsp sea salt

For Jellyfish jelly:

  • 3 tbsp grape jelly

  • 1 large white onion

  • 2 tbsp water

For Krabby Patty:

  • 4 toasted sesame seed buns

  • 4 slices of tomato

  • lettuce

  • pickles

  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese

For Secret Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 tsp old bay

  • 2 tsp ketchup

  • 1 tsp pickle juice

Instructions:

  • Mix your ground beef with the old bay, sea salt, and pepper and form into 4 small burger patties

  • chop your white onion into long strips and caramelize on medium heat until translucent (about 25 mins). Add in your jelly and water and continue to caramelize for 20 minutes (this will take awhile but be patient).

  • Once the onions are done, grill your patties and add the cheese on top (I cut mine into sponge bob and Patrick shapes hehe)

  • Now it’s time to build your Krabby Patty: bun, sauce, lettuce, tomato, pickles, patty, cheese, Jellyfish jelly, sauce, bun.
