What is your passion? Tell us about it.:

A. Bringing authentic, healthy Korean food to the U.S


What inspired you to pursue this passion? Tell us the story.:

A. Like many immigrants, I have a very small family in America. Also living in Brooklyn, NY, my uncle Inuk was my good friend and golf buddy. Inuk had a rare form of cancer, and he passed away in 2018. He was only 45 leaving behind a devastated wife and two young boys. Inspired by this heartbreaking loss, I embarked on a mission to prioritize my family’s health. I delved into nutrition labels and embraced a healthier lifestyle, recognizing the profound impact of food choices on overall wellness. However, a significant void existed—a lack of accessibility to genuine, wholesome Korean food and ingredients. Drawing upon my diverse background in banking, government, and startups, I took a leap of faith. In 2019, I launched Kim'C Market with only five storied, Korean pantry products. The online purveyor dedicated to bringing authentic Korean flavors and nourishment to households across America now carries 750+ products that they directly import from farmers and artisans. With Kim'C Market, I am not only aiming to fill the void I experienced firsthand but also empowering others seeking better-quality, nutritious options. By providing accessible and convenient access to genuine Korean food, Kim’C Market hopes to inspire individuals and families to make informed choices that prioritize their well-being. Kim'C Market is growing to offer other higher quality Asian items for more people.


What makes your creation unique?:

A. We are an exclusive importer for many Korean product producers. In the meanwhile, we, as a retailer and an ecommerce, also invent products by ourselves.


Tell us about your creative process.:

A. With our mission to improve people’s health by providing premium Korean foods, Kim’C Market only offers the best quality food from the finest producers in Korea. All of our offerings have passed 12 internal criteria including taste, producer’s reputation, sourcing of ingredients, and brand philosophy. Last but not least, we meet with the producers ourselves during business trips to Korea.


Who is your audience? How do you engage them?:

A. 36% are Korean, Korean Americans; and the remaining is the general audience. The rest includes all kinds of people. As an ecommerce, we've been trying our best to engage our audiences through social media marketing, influencer marketing, email marketing, and through our website. However, most importantly, I believe our high-quality products are the best way to engage the audiences.


What experience does your passion create? What can recipients expect?:

A. As a Korean food retailer and e-commerce platform, our passion helps us create a luxury shopping experience you cannot find at any grocery store. Our customers can expect to indulge in the rich flavors of traditional Korean cuisine.

A. We are looking forward to launching our new products Kimchi Bites (canned specialty kimchi) and SSAL is Rice (pre-packaged rice) in August.
