Atomo Coffee, a company backed by Beyond Meat, has reimagined your morning brew in an extraordinary way. Nestled in Seattle, often hailed as America's coffee capital, Atomo Coffee has introduced the world’s first beanless coffee.

This pioneering venture has captivated investors, securing a whopping $51.6 million in funding. The beanless coffee is crafted from superfoods and upcycled ingredients that replicate the molecular structure of traditional coffee. With such significant financial backing, it’s safe to assume that this innovative brew closely mimics the real deal.

Atomo Coffee’s inspiration stems from a desire to mitigate our carbon footprint. Climate change is affecting agriculture globally, compelling coffee farmers to clear nearby forests in search of more fertile land. Research suggests that by 2050, nearly half of the land currently used for coffee cultivation will become unsuitable.

"Coffee is causing deforestation at a pretty alarming rate — almost up to ten New York Central Parks a day," says Andy Kleitsch, CEO and co-founder of Atomo. "We’re talking about a machine, a coffee machine that’s never stopping, always looking for more land, and that's what we’re trying to prevent."

The environmental benefits of beanless coffee are striking. Atomo Coffee’s initial “proof-of-concept” cold brew achieved a 93% reduction in carbon emissions compared to traditional methods. It also uses 94% less water than regular coffee. For those still skeptical, Time Magazine named Atomo’s new machine one of the 200 best inventions of 2022.
