Few food debates get folks fired up like grilled cheese: butter or mayo?
Tillamook and Kewpie’s answer: why not both?
So whether you’re Team Butter, Team Mayo, or simply Team Perfectly Golden Sandwich, this new spread has you covered.
Meet Butternaise: Your New Grilled Cheese Wingman
Yes, it’s real - it’s glorious- and it’s called Butternaise—a luxuriously smooth marriage of Tillamook’s velvety Extra Creamy Unsalted Butter and Kewpie’s brand-new organic mayo, rounded out with a sprinkle of “zesty spices” for good measure.
The Mission: Build The Perfect Grilled Cheese
This gooey collab exists for one very noble reason: to achieve grilled-cheese perfection. We're talking shatter-crisp golden crust on the outside, dreamy molten cheese inside, and not a hint of burnt bread.
Tillamook says you can (and should) slather it generously on whatever bread you'd like—sourdough, brioche, a fancy bakery loaf. If you’re feeling extra, try a taste test. We won’t tell.
The butter-mayo hybrid also stars in Tillamook executive chef Josh Archibald’s own recipe for what he calls the “gold standard” grilled cheese.
When & Where To Get It
Butternaise officially lands on November 6, and you won’t spot it on grocery shelves. It’s a Tillamook online-exclusive, so snag a jar fast—before you're left watching other people’s perfectly crisped sandwiches on TikTok.
