This viral trend for melting chocolate isn't using a microwave, oven, or any other kitchen appliance. This one is using the heat from the sun! In the video, @miaivybuxton is enjoying a picnic with both milk and dark chocolate bars opened up on the blanket, basking in the heat of the sun. After about 20 minutes, the warmth from the sun melted each bar perfectly, she tells us. Once they are ready, there's endless possibilities! As she dunked strawberries into the ooey-gooey chocolate, I knew it was something I had to try.

This hack is perfect for picnics or beach days to add chocolate to fruits or snacks, like chips and pretzels. When there’s no sunlight to melt them, leaving a bar in the car is also a viable option during these warmer months. Depending on the temperature, they may only take a few minutes to be ready. Just be sure to secure them in a leak-proof container to avoid dripping on the dashboard.
